13th Annual Starfish Luncheon Honoree
On May 9th, 2019, I had the pleasure of being honored by Women in Distress at their 13th Annual Starfish Luncheon for my Journey to Empowerment as a Domestic Violence Survivor & Advocate. As if things couldn't get any sweeter, I received their first ever Marti Huizienga Emdowment for Educational Advancement Scholarship and Melanin Sweets sold out to over 500+ community and business leaders.

On April 3rd, 2019, Melanin Sweets joined over 30 community members and alumni to present students with diversified and informative presentations relevant to future career opportunities, the important of staying focused in education and working to achieve at their highest level.
